On the 26th of March, we were invited to listen to a few TEDx talks organized by EEB3. We had the opportunity to learn from professors, teachers, and students, all of whom delivered well prepared and inspiring speeches. They gave the audience something to reflect upon.
The talk that struck me the most was Laila Perez’s about women in STEM. She explained how, even though the gender gap has improved since the XIX century, society still has expectations when it comes to studies and jobs according to gender. The biases start developing from a young age, from as early as when school starts the first day at 8:00 AM at the age of 6…
Overall, this year’s Youth TEDx organized by EEB3 was well executed, and I look forward to the next one!
